What is the difference between the state solar subsidy scheme and the national portal solar subsidy?

As electricity demands continue to increase, finding affordable and renewable sources of energy is crucial. The Indian government has suggested solar energy as a viable option to meet this challenge. With the growing popularity of solar rooftops, many households are switching to solar energy to reduce their electricity bills. One of the main drivers of this sector's growth is the availability of subsidies. In this blog, we will explore the differences between state and national solar subsidy schemes in India.

The state solar subsidy scheme is exclusively applicable to residential solar grid-connected systems that do not include batteries. The commercial or industrial sectors are not eligible for this scheme. Each DISCOM has established rate benchmarks for solar companies selling solar systems, with subsidy availability ranging from 20-40% depending on the system size.

The national solar subsidy scheme provides a predetermined subsidy based on the desired system size for installation. Customers can apply for solar subsidies via the National Portal, and the subsidy amount is typically deposited into their bank account within 30 days of the solar system being commissioned.

Under the State Scheme, customers only need to pay the post-subsidy price to the solar company, which is calculated as the Total Price minus the subsidy amount. The solar company then claims the subsidy from the government after the installation. In the National Portal Scheme, customers initially pay the full amount to the solar company and later apply for solar subsidies through the National Portal. The subsidy is typically deposited into the recipient's bank account within 30 days after the solar system has been commissioned.

Switching to solar energy for your home doesn't need to be a complex undertaking. The example about the mattress sizing page you mentioned in the last WBF can be a perfect example of new keywords and content, and broadening the funnel as well. I can only imagine the sale numbers if that was the site of a mattress selling company.
